FRED THE GODSON - CITY OF GOD
They say everything works in cycles and 30 plus years after Hip Hop's establishment, the Bronx is making a massive comeback and stamping its name back on the culture's birth certificate. With an arsenal of artists ready to go, the force is definitely making an impact. Leading the charge is the witty Fred the Godson.
Fred the Godson makes it clear that he doesn't rely on his looks or sex appeal to make noise in this game. (Listen to "Let Me Be the One") Instead, Fred proves to us that pure talent and lyrics will still reign over the gimmicks. The mixtape starts off a little slow but picks up speed quickly. One of my favorite tracks is "Hip Hop" in which The Mad Rapper from the classic Notorious B.I.G's skits makes an appearance. City of God delivers something for everybody. It has plenty of smooth tracks, party tracks and street bangers alike. There's plenty of features including Diddy, Maino, Raekwon, Vado, Pusha T, Meek Mill and more.
Listen to City of God tell us how you feel about it.
