ON THE BLOCK SPORTS WITH @NASTYLOS

Sorry for the delay folks but this Call of Duty is like crack.

Well surprise surprise...there's going to be an NBA season after all.  Personally, I wouldn't have cared if this season would have been cancelled.  But since it's not, let's talk some NBA.

Being that the season is shortened and the lockout barred any NBA transactions and business, front offices of every team are going crazy with all the hiring, signing, releasing of players and staff in such a condensed time.  It's going to be fun seeing which direction teams go as far as free agents these next couple of weeks.  In my opinion, Marc Gasol, younger brother of Pau Gasol, is the biggest free agent prize this year.  At 7'1" and 26 years old, he's a defensive machine and owns a nice mid range jumper.  Nene Hilario.....sighs.  Every time someone mentions his name, I think about draft day where the Cablevision owned Knicks traded his right to the Nuggets for Antonio McDyess.  Anyways, Nene quietly has become one of the premier PFs in the league.  Andrei Kirilenko,Tayshaun Prince, J.J. Barea, J-Rich, David West, Thaddeus Young are among the top free agents available as well.  I looked down this free agent list pretty fast when I seen Grant Hill and Tracy McGrady.  Remember how great these two guys once were?
Greg "I'm Not as Old as I Look" Oden is a free agent as well.  I don't think there's a team dumb enough to sign this sack of injuries.  He's been in the league 3 years, I believe and played like 3 months.  We'll see.  Maybe the Nets would pick him up.
Chris Paul finally disclosed that he wants to play for the Knicks.  CP3 is available via a sign and trade agreement but I don't think the Knicks have the pawns to make the trade.  He's a free agent next year and the Hornets are on the hot seat.
I'm not going to talk football this week because I now have to rock a Saints jersey and drink Jagermeister all night because of a bet I made.  Thanks a lot, Giants defense!  Oh, and Ndamukong Suh, you're a dirty player.  Don't hide it, embrace it, channel it and become one with it.  Harness the dirtiness and use it to your advantage.  This is football and in the trenches of that line of scrimmage, you have to get down and dirty.  Screw them.  But for the love of God, stop telling on yourself!
There has been some action on the baseball side of things lately.  The Texas Rangers have converted their All Star closer, Neftali Feliz, into a starter and signed Joe Nathan, formerly of the Twins, to a 2 year contract.  Very curious as to how that's going to play out.  C.J. Wilson continues being the talk of the MLB as team after team vie for his services as a starting pitcher.  It's too early to say where he'd end up.  Maybe the Yankees will keep outbidding themselves again.....idiots.  Ryan Doumit signed a 1 year contract with the Twins after spending his whole career with the Pirates.  Rockies traded their starting catcher, Chris Iannetta, to the Angels today for 21 year old pitcher, Tyler Chatwood.  Mets still messing up by not sweeping Jose Reyes off his feet with a contract that he deserves.....idiots.  And the Miami Marlins have just offered Heath Bell a big contract that I expect him to accept.  Finally, welcome back Bobby Valentine!!!  New manager for the Boston Red Sox.  Always liked his style of coaching when he managed the Mets.  I see him succeeding and doing well in Boston.
