Someone explain to me how the Saints, who last week scored 20 touchdowns, manage to lose to the Rams this past Sunday. How is that possible? Also explain to me why you would spend 600 million dollars to build a stadium only to change the dimensions a couple of years down the line. Why?
But the focus right now is on the NY Giants come from behind victory over the Dolphins. At halftime, I was cursing the play calling by the Giants. They were playing too conservative and taking this Miami team too lightly. They suck, don't get me wrong, but this is still an NFL team. Eli Manning, who is finally becoming an elite QB in the league, came out arm blazing in the 3rd and 4th quarters to get the win. As for Brandon Jacobs, I think ever since he worked out with Tiki Barber a couple of off seasons ago, he's been scared to bang up the middle. He's too big a back to be dancing in the backfield. This is definitely his last year with the team if he doesn't revert back to his old self.
Giants play the Patriots next week. Hakeem Nicks is banged up and probably won't play. Ahmad Bradshaw missed today's practice. Doesn't look good for the Giants but I have a bold prediction: Manning throws for 350 yards, 3 TDs, 1 INT. New York beats NE by a score of 35 to 33.
Cowboys are in a world of hurt. They got smacked by the Eagles Sunday night. Saints got destroyed by the Rams. How embarrassing. Tebow-mania is dead as the Lions ate his food. I'm hoping he gets ran out the league. I don't think there's been a more overrated player in football than Tim Tebow.
On to the MLB now, Captain Cheeseburger Sabathia and his sodomized the yankees yet again in his new deal. Sabathia could have opted out and tested the free agency waters but the pinstriped pinheads offered him another lucrative deal. I see them going hard after CJ Wilson of the Rangers. Maybe even offer him a AJ Burnett deal LOL. And then they'll eventually lose in the first round....again. There haven't been any major signings or re-signings so far. I'll keep you posted as they start dotting their I's and crossing their T's.
Citifield just got a bit shorter. Management have decided to bring in the fences a bit to help liven up the offenses. The most important decision and my favorite, was to eliminate that "Mo's Corner" in right field. Now instead of having this nook in the middle of right field, it become symmetrical with the rest of the outfield. The dimensions aren't changed drastically. The deepest part of the park was 415 and now it's 408. The distance along the lines stay the same and like I said, the most drastic change was the elimination of that Mo's Corner in right field.
I've seen on some sites people ragging on the Mets for making the outfield shorter. Let's not get it twisted....it's shorter than before but it's not Yankee Stadium short. It's not like I could stand on home plate and aim my piss at the right field foul pole and hit it like one could at Yankee Stadium. It's not like you wouldn't have to build new fences if they were to host the Little League World Series there, wherein at Yankee Stadium, they could use the existing dimensions. I think the Mets messed up with this whole stadium. Almost a billion dollars spent and there's no retractable roof. No wrestling events, no concerts, no extra income to help with that Madoff scandal payoff shit. None of that. And then now to admit to the public that they erred once again and bring in the fences....how embarrassing.
This weekend, I'm going to try and see the #1 vs #2 in college football, LSU vs. Alabama. I'm hoping Saban and his team get their asses handed to them. Also some boxing Saturday night, James Kirkland vs. Alfredo Angulo. I like Kirkland here by KO in 3. Glen Johnson vs. Lucian Bute. I'm picking Johnson by decision. That's my update this week.
