Thank you all, please hold your applause. We are just a couple of days away from the fight of the year. Miguel Cotto puts up his share of the 154 pound title when he faces off against Floyd Mayweather at the MGM in Las Vegas. This fight should have happened years ago when both were around the welterweight limit. But of course, we all know one of these guys is scared of competition.
Cotto is coming off his tenth round TKO thrashing of Antonio Margacheato, where he looked sharp and determined for the most part. He started getting tagged towards the latter part of the fight but it was too little too late and ended up with the victory. In Mayweather's last fight....can we call it that? Floyd ended up with a knock out victory over Victor Ortiz after he gave him a cheap, blindsided 1-2 punch. And then got put on blast by Larry Merchant LMAO. These two fighters don't match up at all. Mayweather clearly has the advantage in almost every aspect except in power....precisely the reason why he agreed to this fight in 2012 and not in 2008. Mayweather has the speed, the accuracy, the conditioning, and most importantly, the defense to make this an easy fight. Cotto has the power and the ring generalship to make this a memorable short and easy night. Even though this fight clearly favors Mayweather, many experts are calling this a pick 'em bout, which basically means 50/50.
In order for Cotto to win, he had better trained to go 15 rounds because as fast as Mayweather is, he's going to be running and running and running trying to tire Cotto out. Cotto has to get back to basics and go to the body and do it often. He has to slow Mayweather down from jump because as soon as Floyd feels like he has the upper hand in this fight, he's off to the races. Cotto can't let his defense falter in this fight at all and always expect counter punching. Mayweather on the other hand, he just has to do what he's been doing. Stick and move and press when he sees a hole in the defense.
Who do I think is going to win? Cotto cuts and swells up easily and as he fades later in the fight, that is going to open the door to many of Mayweather's jabs and have the fight stopped due to a cut or a closed eye. That's what I think is going to happen. Mayweather in round 10 due to a cut/closed eye.
But of course as soon as I land in Vegas tomorrow, I'm going to be placing a bet. Cotto by TKO in Round 6. Yes, I will be there live, bitches!!! I image that place is going to be craaaazy.

Take Some pictures!!!!
